Doing business with the Town of Yemassee

Procurement procedures are governed by Chapter 2, Article X, of the Code of Ordinances.

In Summary:

  • The Town Clerk (Administrator) shall:
    • Solicit and maintain, when practical, an up-to-date list of qualified suppliers who have requested their names to be added to a bidders list.
    • The purchasing agent shall have the authority to join with other units of government in cooperative purchasing plans when the best interest of the town would be served thereby.
    • The purchasing agent shall have authority to make purchases of supplies and equipment through the property division of the state budget and control board, without the formality of publication and receiving competitive bids.

Competitive Sealed Bids

Solicitations can be posted as Invitations to Bid, Requests for Letters of Interest, Requests for Proposals, or Requests for Qualifications. Detailed instructions for submitting responses are outlined in the body of each solicitation posted. Please pay close attention to these instructions to avoid rejection of your submission.

Vendor Registration

Vendors and consultants that would like to be considered for general Town projects and purchases are recommended to register. Registration is not a requirement to doing business with the Town. Vendors that do register will receive email notifications when new solicitations pertaining to their area of interest are posted to our website.
