Matthew E. Garnes serves as the Town Administrator of the Town of Yemassee. The Town Administrator is appointed by the Town Council and oversees the Administration Department and the overall operation of the Town. Mr. Garnes is originally from upstate New York and relocated to South Carolina in 2013. He has been with the Town since 2017 and currently serves as the Towns representative on the following external boards and committees:
- Beaufort-Jasper Housing Trust
- SoLoCo Growth Subcommittee
- Southern Lowcountry Regional Board
