Officers Arrest Ryan Hagan, 23, of Yemassee on multiple charges

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Yemassee, SC) – On Saturday, August 28, 2021, at approximately 9:20 PM, Yemassee Police Department officers were dispatched to a Disturbance at the Love’s Travel Stop at 409 Yemassee Hwy in the Town of Yemassee. Upon arrival, it was learned that Hagan had assaulted two females and had left the location walking back into Town. Officers canvassed the area and located Hagan who appeared to be under the influence as he had slurred speech and was having trouble standing. Officers attempted to detain Hagan to begin their investigation into the events that unfolded when Hagan ran from the officer but was apprehended immediately. Officers questioned Hagan as to the circumstances surrounding the events of the evening and if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol to which he claimed he had taken some Xanax pills. While officers were securing Hagan in the patrol vehicle, he became angry and irate and began kicking the windows on the patrol vehicle. Hagan continued to resist but was ultimately secured in the patrol vehicle. While inside the vehicle, he continued hitting the window with his head as well as the protective barrier between the front seats and the rear.  Officers transported Hagan to Hampton Regional Medical Center to be evaluated secondary to hitting his head repeatedly onto the car window. While in the Emergency Room, Hagan was yelling and using profanity towards hospital staff and Police. After being cleared by the hospital, Hagan was transported to the Hampton County Detention Center for booking.  Hagan was charged with Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, Resisting Arrest, Public Disorderly Conduct, and Trespassing after notice. Judge Sheryl. McKinney set bond at $15,000.00
