Exemplary service, leadership qualities, and a deep commitment to the safety and well-being of our community have marked his journey with us. Lieutenant Strauss's promotion is a personal achievement and a reflection of his unwavering dedication to the department and the people we serve.

Richard Pope: Elevated to Sergeant

Sergeant Richard Pope, synonymous with resilience and dedication, has been with YPD since August 2022. His current road patrol assignment and role as our Code Enforcement Officer speaks volumes about his versatility and commitment to maintaining public safety and community standards. This promotion is a recognition of Sergeant Pope's hard work, professionalism, and the positive impact he has made in a relatively short time.

Christa Hoffman: Promoted to Patrolman First Class (PFC)

Since joining the force in April 2022, Patrolman First Class Christa Hoffman has shown exceptional dedication to her duties, especially in her role as a K9 handler for K9 Zika. Her commitment to road patrol and ensuring the safety of our community, alongside her partnership with Zika, has been remarkable. PFC Hoffman's promotion is a testament to her hard work, service excellence, and the significant role she plays in our department.
