National Telecommunicators Week - THANK YOU!

Yemassee Police Department surprised a rockstar team of dispatchers at the Hampton County Emergency Management Center by bringing in some baked goods to enjoy during National Telecommunicators Week. This small gesture of appreciation is an excellent way to show these hardworking professionals their work is valued and appreciated.

National Telecommunicators Week is a special event annually to honor the hardworking men and women who work as dispatchers in emergency services such as police, fire, and medical services. These dedicated professionals are responsible for answering emergency calls, dispatching appropriate emergency personnel to the scene, and providing critical support and assistance to callers during stressful and often traumatic situations.

Dispatchers are often the unsung heroes of emergency services, and their hard work and dedication can often go unnoticed. By recognizing their efforts and providing them with a small token of appreciation, the Yemassee Police Department has demonstrated its commitment to supporting its dispatchers and ensuring that they feel valued and appreciated. - Matt Garnes, Town Administrator
