Demolition Project Update

The Town continues to work in conjunction with the Lowcountry Council of Governments regarding the Demolition Project. Currently, the Town is awaiting asbestos / environmental testing on the final four additional properties added, to be completed and a report drafted to the Town. The Town strived to achieve the maximum benefit from the grant award and as such found four replacements for four properties that did not consent to demolition. In doing so, this caused the project to be delayed compounded with the industry delays exasperated by the COVID-19 pandemic last year. The Town is working diligently to complete this project as expeditiously as possible.
