Town of Yemassee Awarded $25k PARD grant

The Town of Yemassee is pleased to announce the award of a South Carolina Park and Recreation Development Fund (PARD) grant in the amount of $25,000 to revitalize the Willis Street Athletic Courts. The project scope includes resurfacing of the basketball courts, procurement, and installation of new benches, picnic tables and signage, pavement of parking spaces, and a sidewalk entrance to the court to make it handicapped accessible as well as adding public safety cameras to deter crime and prevent vandalism. The Town will begin securing bids for various parts of the project with the project slated to be finished by the fall.

Funding-wise, the State share is $25,000.00, the local match from the Town of Yemassee is $6,250.00 for a total investment of $31,250.00. The Mayor & Town Council are dedicated to continuing our investments in infrastructure and improving quality-of-life across Yemassee.
