Palmetto Rural Telephone to offer Residential Service in Yemassee

The Town of Yemassee has received some news from Palmetto Rural Telephone Cooperative (PRTC) that we are excited to share! Beginning later this year, PRTC will begin offering residential fiber optic internet, phone, and television to homes in the Town of Yemassee. The area in Phase 1 of their buildout (pictured below), will be able to serve roughly 139 homes in the Zone D area of Town. After completion of Phase 1, PRTC will move on to the next area of Town with a goal of providing another choice for residents town-wide. PRTC already has a fiber network that serves businesses and government along the business corridor in the Town but will now provide residential services

The town has heard from residents over the past few months about their desire for options when it comes to internet/phone/TV options. With many working from home and students learning remotely, the Town will continue to work ensuring all residents have access to high speed, fiber optic internet, and communications.
